"Eight winning bidders are to invest R432-million in eco-tourism in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, Environment Minister Valli Moosa announced on Thursday.
At a media briefing in Durban, Moosa said the investment represented the largest eco-tourism boost for Kwazulu-Natal.
The winning bidders were granted concessions to establish lodges, self-catering resorts, camping facilities and adventure travel activities at eight sites in the park.
It would create more than 800 "new and redeveloped beds", offering accommodation ranging from luxurious to affordable to tourists, Moosa said."
