Minnesota's Best State Parks
Itasca State Park
On April 20th, 1891, by just a one vote margin, the bill that established Itasca as a state park was passed in the Minnesota Legislature. That legislation marked the beginning of Minnesota's State Park system and preserved the tall pines, pristine lakes and historic headwaters of the Mississippi River that visitors enjoy today. Itasca is one of Minnesota's most visited state parks and it's here where the mighty Mississippi River begins as a small stream flowing out of Lake Itasca."

"A
re you ready to be dominated by the most extreme article ever?! Brace yourself for journalistic X-tremitude! So intense, we make up words as we go! If you can handle this raw bad-osity, it's no surprise. American teens face the "extremer than thou" attitude every day in advertising. Extreme milk, extreme pudding and the Extreme Bible ($25.99 at www.amazon.com) -- all just in time for the X Games.
X Games (with 1995's initial games in the boundlessly extreme state of Rhode Island), an Olympic-style competition to indulge the world's action sports heroes, launched a tsunami of advertising gold toward the teen and young adult market."
